In July 2022, Evan Kail, a young pawnshop owner in the United States, donated a photo album to China, which contains evidence of Japanese war crimes against China during World War II. Two years after the donation, in November 2024, Evan finally embraced his long-expected trip to China. After visiting Beijing, he says, 'I found that a lot of the media I consumed was very inaccurate, very negative, at least from West talking about China. I found Beijing was not anything like what the media reported, it looks not nearly as polluted as the media made it out to be. This city looks a lot like New York. Beijing is also a very cool city.'
